Connecting Wood The core idea about ‘Connecting Wood’ is the combination of natural wood and special bio plastics, which enable the modification of wood profiles in a way that they can be connected to a multi-applicable framework. The bio plastics used, also called ‘liquid wood’, is produced, almost completely, from leftovers of the paper industry and ban be processed with injection molding techniques. Due to the fact that the material consists of almost the same components like wood, the two of them can easily be combined and just like its natural relative the liquid wood is completely biodegradable and recyclable. I use the unique characteristics of this material to equip wood profiles with connection parts made of liquid wood. The manipulated wood profiles can be linked to form a three-dimensional composition, that can be used as a shelf for example.
